Directory Disclaimer

Last updated: 15 August 2026

1. Directory listing does not mean verified

Buy Australian First (BAF) maintains a broad business and product directory. Businesses may appear in the directory before they have claimed their profile or completed BAF verification.

Inclusion in the BAF directory is not a representation that a business is BAF Verified, Australian owned to the BAF standard, or that its products are Australian made.

A verification claim should only be relied on where the relevant listing expressly displays a current BAF Verified status and, where applicable, a current BAF ID that can be checked through BAF.

2. Unclaimed and Not Yet Verified listings

An “Unclaimed”, “Available to claim” or “Not Yet Verified” status means BAF has not granted the business the displayed verification status. Information in an unclaimed listing may have been gathered from public business websites, public registers, directories, maps, business publications or other publicly available sources.

These listings help consumers discover businesses but should not be treated as an independent finding about ownership, manufacturing, quality, safety or legal compliance.

3. Accuracy and changes

BAF takes reasonable steps to improve directory quality, but businesses open, close, relocate, change ownership, change websites and alter product ranges. Public sources can also contain errors or become outdated. BAF does not warrant that every unverified directory detail will always be complete, current or free from error.

Businesses and members of the public are encouraged to report material errors under our Corrections, Complaints & Appeals Policy.

4. BAF Verified information

A BAF Verified status records BAF's assessment of evidence against the BAF standard at the time of assessment and for the approved verification period. It is not a guarantee that circumstances cannot change later.

Verified businesses must notify BAF of material changes affecting their eligibility. BAF may also review, suspend or revoke a verification in accordance with the BAF Verification Standard & Terms.

5. Australian Made scope

Australian-made status can relate to specified products or an approved product range rather than every item a business sells. Consumers should read the scope shown on the BAF record and should not assume that all goods sold by a verified business were made in Australia unless BAF expressly states that this is the approved scope.

6. No guarantee of products or services

BAF verification concerns the approved ownership and/or manufacturing claim. It does not certify product safety, product quality, professional competence, financial position, customer service, environmental performance or suitability for a particular purpose unless BAF expressly introduces a separate standard covering that matter.

Consumers remain responsible for deciding whether a product or service is suitable for them and for checking any licences, qualifications, warranties, safety information or other matters relevant to a purchase.

7. Product directory

BAF's Australian products pages are an information directory. Unless expressly stated otherwise, BAF is not the seller or manufacturer of a listed product and does not process the retail sale. Product availability, price, delivery, returns and warranties are matters between the consumer and the third-party seller.

8. Third-party websites

BAF may link to business websites, maps, social pages and other external services for convenience. External content is controlled by its respective owner. A link is not, by itself, a BAF endorsement or guarantee.

9. Nearby results and locations

Nearby-search distances are calculated from location data available to BAF and the coordinates supplied by a user's browser when permission is granted. The result is a practical directory aid and may not reflect road distance, travel time, temporary closures or whether a product is currently in stock.

10. Legal rights

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits a right, guarantee or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

11. Contact

To report an incorrect listing or potentially misleading use of a BAF badge, email admin@buyaustralianfirst.com.au.
